Thank you for stopping by.  This site is an extention of our networking.  You will learn more about my career interests, my career experience as well as some tidbits on what I am reading and and little about what is on my mind.  So enjoy, and I hope to be in contact with you in the near future. 

My experience thus far:

My professional experience has been largely in customer/client service and satisfation.  I have six years of combined experience in retail. I have enjoyed employment with Target, Things Remembered, Burlington Coat Factory, Ferguson Enterprises and Comtempo Causuals.   More recently I have worked for the City of Philadelphia.  Most of that time I was a Social Work Services Manager in the Department of Human Services. In this position, I worked with under served populations of families and children that were victims of abuse or neglect and managed contracted workers who provided ongoing services. This was both a challenging and rewarding expreience.  I believe that I learned a lot about culture and diversity, dynamic communication, client management, and supervisory skills and above all how to work in a fast-paced environment through these opportunities.

As of August 2008, I  transitioned into the human resources industry through the Office of Human Resources for the City of Philadelphia.  In my role, I am responsible for the initial processing of applications coming into the city for employment and civil service pre-employment exam creation and administration. I also conduct job audits for classification and revision purposes and participate in special projects as required.  

Currently, I am attending LaSalle University's School of Businesst in the MBA program, where I have a concentration in General Management.  I hone my specialized interests through participation in professional organizations such as Philadelphia Society for Human Resource Management, Society for Industrial and Oraganizational Psychologists and the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Marketing Association.  I intend to use this and prior educational and career experiences to build my future as versatile manager and leader in the retail, sales or technology industries.
